HISNAME ART

Nathan Maliscke (Nate Crash) is a Minneapolis based artist that focuses on creating works of art centered around faith, scripture, color theory and personal experience. Originally from North Dakota, Nate grew up drawing Pokemon and cartoon characters which later turned into a passion for creating works of high detailed portraits through watercolor, graphite and acrylic paint. In the later year of 2019, Nate’s art started to take a turn from high detailed portraits to abstract pour art. The changes through covid, life, and the events of George Floyd all impacted this radical shift in creativity which lead to the creation of the works within this curation. 

 

The works inside this curation are all inspired by scripture and life experience. Intentionality through color theory is a key component of each piece of this exhibition. Every color used represents a different spiritual aspect of God’s character or attributes. For example, the color red signifies the shedding of blood through the cross of Jesus Christ, which also symbolizes the characteristic of mercy. Similarly, gold symbolizes glory, blue represents grace, and the contrast of black and white represents time and tension. Each piece is significant on its own, and the symbols or words hope to convey a message that is unique to each individual. Nate hopes that each piece brings out each individual’s life experience, faith and emotion with each artwork in this specific curation.
